How much money do Americans donate to charity?
During 2010, charitable donations across the United States amounted to over $290 billion.

Does StudentLoanList  verify the students debt ?
Yes!  Before  the students listing becomes active on the website, the StudentLoanList requires that the student submit a copy of their most recent loan statement(s). Each student is also required to submit identification.

How do I make a payment?
Simply browse the listings and select a student to assist. You may register as a donor either before or after selecting a student. Specify the amount that you wish to donate and you will be taken to the payment page.You may use Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover or your PayPal account to make your payment. If you prefer to write a check, that is also an accepted form of payment.  

Is there a fee associated with making a donation?
No. The only cost you incur is the amount that you decide to pay on the student loan debt. There are no admininistrative fees to you as a donor. 

 How is the donation distributed ?
Your donation is sent to the financial institution that the money is owed to, it is not given to the student.

Is there a minimum donation?
Yes, $25.00

Will my name be released as a donor?
Normally, no. However you do have the option of having your name listed on our list of donors. If listed, your name will not be associated with any particular student account.

Can I make my donation "in memory" of a loved one?
Yes you can. If you would like, we will list their name on the "thanks donors"  page

Is there a fee to have my name put on the list of donors?
There is no fee, but a minimum donation of $500. is required to have your name listed. The amount that you donate will not be listed, just your name and in most cases we can also include a  link to your website.

Will the StudentLoanList give me the name of a student requesting financial assistance?
No, the names of students are not released to donors.

If I know someone that is on the StudentLoanList, can I make a donation to them ?
Yes, search for your friend or family member by  using the advanced search and list their gender, state of school, and major and you can most likely find them.

How bad is the student loan debt problem in the United States ?
The total debt for student loans is believed to exceed one trillion dollars. Recent college graduates are averaging just over $25,000 in student loan debt. And more for those with advanced degrees.
